A genuine World War One Silver War Badge sometimes known as a Silver Wound Badge. It has the King's Cypher on it plus the words " For King and Empire - Services Rendered ". It has a Vertical Pin and clasp and it is numbered 462458. Research shows that this badge was awarded to 351290 Private CHARLES LAURENCE of the 7th ( CITY OF LONDON ) Battalion THE LONDON REGIMENT Private Laurence enlisted on 16th April 1915 and was discharged due to WOUNDS on 18th March 1919 aged 23 years. The War & Victory Rolls show that he served in France from 27th January 1917 and he was still there at the end of hostilities on 11th November 1918 He originally had the four digit service number of 3643 In addition to his Silver War Badge Private Laurence was entitled to the British War & Victory Medals Badge comes with a copy of his Medal Index Card plus copy pages from the War Badge Roll and the War & Victory Medal Roll.
